Course Content – Practicum in Homeopathy


 

Clinical Supervision - Post graduate

After completing a 500-hour program in classical homeopathy, the Practicum in Homeopathy provides 250 hours of clinical training required for national certification by the Council for Homeopathic Certification (CHC). The program offers Study of Materia Medica as well as Repertory and Health Science Reviews in preparation for the national exam. Participation in the annual HSC - guest speaker seminar is included in the tuition.

HSC offers the Practicum as an outstanding DVD Distance Education Program. Participants may take up to two years to complete the Practicum.

The Practicum includes:

Clinical Training

Case observation, analysis and supervision for clinic cases  
Case analysis of Homeopathic Symposium online cases  
Individual case supervision for 10 cases and 20 follow-ups  
Actual video-taped cases delivered via high quality DVDs  

Study of Materia Medica

Study of CHC – required remedies for the national exam  
Materia Medica practice tests  

Health Science and Repertory Review

Systems and pathology review  
Medical terms review  
Repertory review and practice tests  

How does the Practicum work?

At the beginning of the program, participants receive a packet containing a syllabus, study materials, assignments and DVD-sets with actual clinic cases and follow-up appointments. Participants watch these clinic DVDs and write reports. Each case report is submitted via email and reviewed by a nationally certified homeopath.

Participants also receive specific feedback for ten individual cases and twenty follow-up reports. Additionally six cases are viewed online and analyzed through the Homeopathic Symposium.

Written materials and quizzes provide practice exercises to prepare for national certification. Areas covered are: materia medica, health sciences and repertory. Preparation of materials and supervision is provided exclusively by nationally certified homeopaths.

Who may apply?

The Practicum in Homeopathy is open to individuals who have graduated from a 500-hour program in Classical Homeopathy.

Application requirements include:

Written documentation verifying completion of a 500-hour program
in Classical Homeopathy
 
Completed Practicum application  
Non-refundable $75.00 (US) application fee payable to the Homeopathy School of Colorado  

In addition, Practicum applicants must:

Have a good command of spoken and written English  
Have access to a computer with MS Word software  
Have access to reliable email and Internet services  
Have access to equipment capable of playing DVDs
